Grossa di Gerace cultivar

The Grossa di Gerace is a native variety from Calabria and it’s used mostly for the production of oil. The drupes are elliptical and, once the ripening is complete, they are blackish.

This cultivar oil taste is fruity, bitter and spicy with a slight grassy aroma. In the last few years, the inhabitants of Calabria have started to use this variety to produce the crushed olives, the patè and the pickled olives.
